The Board of Christian Education
Mission and Purpose

When the ministry of Christian Education of a local church is fully engaged and spiritual gifts are operational we believe the process we describe will result in the fulfillment of our purpose as Christians.  Local churches will be equipped as Disciples to fulfill the ministry of Jesus Christ in the world.

Therefore, the goal of the Department of Christian Education is to present those elements of discipleship that lead to the equipping of the saints at the local church level and the development of a practical plan of discipleship where are persons who are a part of the local church membership have an opportunity to be engaged in prayer, study, worship and life-long learning seeking to carry out the ministry and mission of Jesus Christ.

Through study and practical application of the resources developed and recommended by the Department of Christian Education, local churches become active participants in the discipleship plan.  Local boards of Christian Education begin to live into the mission of the Connectional Department’s mission – “to make disciples through events that form and transform.”
